Pirate of the Caribbean...

ARRGH!! You know the deal, REZROCKET© in this piece loungin' at the Rum Island Bar listening to Neneh Cherry sing Buffalo Stance and other shiznit on shuffle. Bear with me as www.jeremyarviso.com is offline until I return to the States. Here's a flick of where I'm at,

We got here today and it's called Marina Cay and is near the Trellis Bay off the coast of Tortola. I've been taking MAD pics and I can't wait to edit them and post'em. I'm learning the art of sailing and it's fun, I think I may move to Hawaii in the next year or so if Island Life is always this nice. I'm sure it's not but I can deal with the bad.

We spent two days on Anegada Island.

It's kind of a deserted island and only experienced sailors dare venture to it. The thing is, you can't see it unless you know how to navigate, or got a dope GPS system.
I think we were about 2 or 3 miles away and I finally called "Land HO!" when I spotted it through the binoculars.

We spent the first two days on Tortola Island where Road Town is, the capital. It's dope, I went to a bunch of clubs with a cat named Clive who picked me up off the street at around 10:30pm. He's a dude that lives on the countryside but came to the city to go to the club, he rented a car and phone for the occasion, I think it was a X-mas gift to himself and he wanted someone to mob with. Here's Road Town,

I got some really dope footage of this island and I can't wait to upload it.

We also spent a night at Spencer Island where the snorkeling was the shit. We visited the Dog Islands and had a little anchor problem but got through the situation with no stress. I can't find a pic online so I'll update later.

We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at the Bitter End. Here's a flick,

This spot was DOPE!! Hella' rich headz be staying here, we docked at the marina. A spot in one of the houses started at $10,000 a week!! BIG yachts and Big egos walkin' around this spot. Across the bay was Nectar Island which is owned by Richard Bronson (Virgin) and is PIMP!! This spot is something else. I got some flicks from here as well.

I'm using free Wi-Fi getting my blog on and I'ma wrap up for now and get back to lounging.

STAY TUNED FOR THE REZROCKET© 2008 WINTER LINE dropping in January! Shit's HOT like crabcakes so stay hungry.

This is JJ the Savage Pirate of the Carribean signing off.

Watch Out NOW!!!

Oldie but goodie I came across in the archive. This show was last August, 4th at the Red Devil Lounge. Beatnuts at their best, SneakerPimps was the same night. Peep the tricks on stage workin' it...

Enjoy!

Sir Charles Interview by Kevin Craft

The homie Kevin Craft of Riottt.com was in Philly for the release of the Charles Barkley Air Force 1 release. Sir Charles answers questions about violence in Philly and abroad regarding black on black crime, the design process of signature shoes throughout his career, and his philantrophy efforts to help get kids into college.

I've always been a big fan of Sir Charles since his 76er days on to when he was traded to the Phoenix Suns. You can check out the entire line right here courtesy of Hypebeast.com

Ghostface & Rakim

This is already old but I thought I'd share it anyway for true GFK and Rakim fans. They rolled thru SF the night before my birthday at Mezzanine and rocked with a 12 piece band. It was probably the dopest show I've seen in quite some time. Ghost had some crazy jewelry on and had the crowd going bananas. Rakim was just Rakim the God... Most definately a night to remember. I snuck my camera in my wallabee's son....

Be on the look out for that WU-TANG 8 Diagrams album - Dec.11th and The Big Dough Rehab - Dec.4th!!

Ghost - C.R.E.A.M.

Rakim - J.U.I.C.E.

Back in the Sco!

I'm back in San Franskidrow, CA. It's good to be back, I got in last night around 10pm and rolled through the City. Everytime I leave for 5+ days I can't wait to come back home, unless I'm in Japan or NYC. It's always a nice town to come home to, I can't wait to eat my girls' cooking!!

Anyway, here's some footage from the shoot I did out in Eerie Indiana. In this scene we are penetrating the camp of those pesky colonial suckas and work them over big time!! Lots of blood, lots of muskets and lots of HAIR!!!

Peep it,

Watch out now!!

Wet Paint - Dumperfoo

Went to Wet Paint in Tempe, AZ the other day to visit none other than Dumperfoo at the shop he helped establish and run. It's an art/graffiti supply store near the ASU campus where you can choose from a wide spectrum of aerosol from brands like Montana and Belton. They also stock vinyl toys, magazines, books and videos.

Oh yeah, they're well stocked with your favorite art supplies to keep you busy for the entire holiday season.

Hope you all are finding your way to family, friends, foes, etc. for Turkey Day, AKA "The Natives Should've Let Pilgrims Starve Day!!"

DGK!!

I've always had MAD respect for Stevie Williams. I remember when he was coming up, back in the late nineties. He's one of the first minority street skaters that I remember clearly who was really doing it. As a fan of skateboarding, he's definatly one of my favorites. This is a short documentary about Stevie posted on Riottt.com by Bee Nguyen. DGK is the label, Dirty Ghetto Kids is the team.

OLDIE BUT GOODIE....

Sketchcast.com

Peep this out, it's actually harder than it looks. It's easier if you have a Wacom pen which I know most people don't have or even know about. Look them up, I won a tablet in the Cut&Paste Battle so I'm getting used to using one. They're definately much easier to use than a mouse when performing certain tasks in Illustrator or Photoshop, take your pick. I'm actually picking my nose....

CityShrinker

Peep this site CityShrinker.com out, this guy takes photos of cityscapes and then "miniaturizes" them to make them look like models. I actually seen an ad in the most recent WIRED magazine on how to do this in Photoshop. I'm going to give you step by step instructions on how do this cool technique.

It's called a tilt-shift effect. (without the expen$ive tilt-shift lens)

1. Import your image to Photoshop, then press Q to enter Quickmask mode.
2. Select the gradient tool and set it to Reflected Gradient. Click on the area you want to be in focus and drag the cursor in the direction you want the image to blur.
3. Press Q again to complete the mask.
4. Apply a blur filter from the Filters menu.
5. BUG OUT on your creation!

1492 - Reign In Blood

Check out this little excerpt from the documentary The Canary Effect which was I noticed towards the end of 2005, but never got much mainstream attention. I'm not a big fan of the guy, Ward Chuchill who is interviewed for the film. That's a whole other topic and the big picture here is Columbus Day and how the USA celebrates this so-called holiday by not delivering my mail and closing my bank!! WHAT'S UP WITH THAT!!?? Anyway, check it out and feed your brain!! It'll thank you later.

I'm the Q-Bert of Photoshop!

(semi-final winning design)

Well, not exactly. I don't think Q-bert lost any battles in the DJ game. However, I did end up in the Top 4 SemiFinals for the CUT&PASTE Digital Design Tournament. Over 800 heads came out for the event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and packed the entire house! I was stoked just to be able to participate in this competition, let alone place as a Semi-Finalist. You can view the winning designs at photos from the event HERE.

BIG SHOUT OUT to the whole C&P team - John, Jenn, Noah & Kelly as well as the SF team Wyeth, Lisa and Lily. The Eight contenders and the 800+ people that crammed the venue, THANK YOU! I had a blast and can't wait for this movement to grow.

Much more to come in the future! Stay tuned and check out my new site if you haven't been there yet.

Peace.
